What is composition?
It’s how things are “arranged”. In photography, It’s the arrangement of visual elements or “ingredients” you add to showcase your images.
2 photos in the exact same location with identical subjects can look different based on how the image is composed.
Over hundreds of years of creating art, some basic “rules” have emerged that naturally make images more aesthetic.
Of course, these rules are not mandatory (nothing is mandatory in art). They can be bent, & others broken (The Matrix anyone?).
The work of a true artist is when a rule is broken intentionally and still captures you.
But in order to break the rules, you have to know them, and master them first.
As Picasso said – “Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist”
In this video I share 7 composition tips and 2 mistakes beginners make when getting into photography.
