EIGHT 360 camera tips and tricks for beginners + How to Use a 360 Camera + Why use a 360 camera?

EIGHT 360 camera tips and tricks for beginners. First, I discuss why use a 360 camera by discussing five 360 camera advantages. Next, I discuss basic 360 camera techniques:

1. Avoid a giant hand by using a selfie stick and a self-timer.
2. You don’t have to pan the 360 camera. Instead, you can pan electronically through keyframing.
3. Avoid the stitch line. Imagine your camera is a giant fan. If the fan will hit you or anyone else, you’re in the stitch line.
4. To make a selfie stick invisible, choose a selfie stick that is narrow enough to be within the stitch line. Also, keep the 360 camera in-line with the selfie stick.
5. To use the 360 camera as a third person view camera, use an invisible selfie stick (tip 4) and hold it at a natural angle.
6. If you want to save time in postprocessing, use direction hold and pan the camera as you would a regular camera.
7. Minimize glare or uneven exposure by aiming the stitch line toward the primary light source. Also, keep the camera clean and never lay it down on a hard surface.
8. A good rule of thumb when shooting photos and videos of people is to put the camera at chin or shoulder height, at a speaking distance (the distance that you would use when talking).
To find out why or to see these rules in action, watch the video.

  4. So, this may be discussed elsewhere but I can't find it – have you done a video or post on how to minimize the seam/stitchline with the HDR photos? I use it for real estate – I try to have the seam pointed at the brightest spot to even it out. Sometimes there is a seam, sometimes I get lucky and there isn't one. Inconsistent though.

  5. Great video teacher. Using my Ricoh Theata SC, started on Thursday and today is Saturday. I finally got it to connect to my 2 year old LG and snapped a couple of pics. Then tried to pair it up with my "cameras-exclusive" Motorola that I just brought a few months ago to use with my Insta360 Air, but cannot connect to the Motorola, so will call a tech support person at Ricoh on Monday to ask him/her why/how. Thanks for the offer, but it's the weekend time to enjoy your kids and wife and get out and snap more pics. I watched this video today and of course, had to give my teacher a 'thumb up rating' as a faithful subscriber should always do. I will read and learn the camera more today and tomorrow. I charged the camera at B&H, so if i cannot master it by two weeks, I think I can send it back and to save up for that Insta360 One X. Your student and You Tube subscriber here in San Francisco, Tamara

  6. I just got my 360 one X. For some reason, I can only record 7-9sec. I have done the FW up-date. I hope to be happy with this. but need more time. After 7-9sec the system shuts off. Any idea ???

  7. Nice tips and tricks. I own a Rylo and that tips are a must! With selfie stick.. it really looks like a personal drone! 3rd person view! Love it! Now I can appear on my own videos! hehehe

  8. Let say that I want to see on my cellphone, what I am filming. Can I do that ? Or is it only by wifi ? Can we plug it directly, to the cellular to prevent delay/lag ?
